~What a great idea for a word wall at home! As your child brings home new high frequency words and you see them in the weekly newsletter you can add them to your word wall at home. This can be used when practicing words, or doing any writing at home.

~Shoe Tying Challenge!

Who: Room  9
What: To be able to tie our shoes
When: Our goal is to have 23 shoe tie-ers by Winter Break!
Why: First graders will be able to tie their own shoes.
How: Practice, practice, practice!


So far, we have students who have completed the challenge!





~Report Cards will be emailed this Friday, October 20th.  Please keep in mind our goal is for students to reach a 5 by the end of first grade. At this point in the year we hope to see mostly  2's. Any areas marked a 1 would be an area in which to support and focus upon this coming quarter.

REMINDERS FROM THE OFFICE:

TUESDAY is SPIRIT DAY!  Wear Red/White/Blue or your new spirit wear to school and show your school spirit!
WEDNESDAY is "International Walk To School Day"  Students can walk from home or if that's too far, you can be dropped off behind the Starbucks next to Subway on 131st and Hazel Dell by 7:30 a.m. to walk with the Principal and several teachers.
THURSDAY - Fall Family Fun Night from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. - Come and enjoy food, games and family tailgate outdoor fun with your friends!  Bring your own lawn chair!  All food is free, which includes hotdogs, chips, cookies and drinks.

ALL WEEK - Support our Hamilton County Coat Drive  - send in your gently used coats by Friday for this worthy cause.
