Weekly Update - 5/21/18

*Important Reminders*

·        I have had a couple parents state that my emails have been getting sent to their junk mail. L I am hoping that everyone gets this but please continue to check your junk mail as well in case you have missed a recent email from me.

•       Please join us Tuesday, May 22^nd from 9:00-9:30 for our Rainforest Wax Museum! The students have worked so hard on their project and are excited to share with you! You may learn something new by *pushing a button* in our museum. J
•          Jr Olympics for K-2 will be Wednesday, May 23^rd. Look for more details to follow regarding dress and lunch.
•          Our Children’s Museum field trip will be Friday, May 25^th. Please remember that students need to pack a peanut free sack lunch with everything disposable. If you are attending our field trip, please look for more details to come via email at some point tomorrow. 

Weekly Update - 5/14/18

Thank you to Mrs. Shappell-Ednie for joining us last week to help talk about the power of friendship and being assertive! Ask your student about our lesson with her and how he/she can be assertive at school and home. :) 

Here is a list of the reminders she gave us to help us be assertive, not aggressive and reactive.

1. Stand or sit tall - keep your head up! 

2. Use eye contact

3. Stay calm

4. Speak in a firm but respectful voice

5. Use appropriate words

6. Walk or turn away when you are done

Room 9 has been working hard on Rainforest Animal Research! Don't forget that masks are due this week and our Wax Museum is Tuesday, May 22nd 9:00-9:30! 

A special shout out to the wonderful parents who helped transform our room into a Rainforest last week! You played a huge part in the excitement on the student's faces on Monday morning! :)

Reminders: 

• Parent Volunteers for our field trip - money is due ASAP. Our goal is to have that turned in by Wednesday, May 9th. 
• Wishful Wednesdays are currently going on! Please encourage your child to make a donation. 
• Rainforest Animal masks are due Friday, May 18th! Please join us for our animal wax museum on Tuesday, May 22nd from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.

Weekly Update - 4/23/18

We had a great time sharing our garbage monsters in honor of Earth Day! Each student wrote a story about an adventure that their garbage monster (or robot, princess, etc.) went on! :)
